A natural Sunstone from New Mexico, set by hand in sculpted polished brass to reveal its warm, luminous surface and characteristic flashes of light.
Sunstone is a variety of feldspar whose distinctive optical effect is created by minute mineral inclusions within the stone, producing a subtle shimmer or aventurescence that shifts with the light and angle of view. Each specimen carries its own combination of colour, texture and internal character.
The brass setting is individually sculpted around the stone, allowing the mineral to remain the focal point of the object rather than enclosing it in a conventional jewellery setting.
Each AOB Artefact is made by hand and exists as a singular object.
Symbolism
Sunstone has traditionally been associated with vitality, warmth, confidence and abundance. In crystal traditions, it is regarded as a stone of optimism and personal power, symbolising radiance, independence and the energy to move forward.
