A natural Ruby in Hornblende, set by hand in sculpted polished brass to accentuate its vivid magenta-red crystalline face against the dark, silver-black hornblende matrix on its back.
Ruby in Hornblende is a natural mineral formation in which raw red corundum — ruby — occurs within a dark hornblende matrix. No two specimens possess exactly the same pattern or character.
The brass setting is individually sculpted around the stone, allowing the mineral to remain the focal point of the object rather than enclosing it in a conventional jewellery setting.
Each AOB Artefact is made by hand and exists as a singular object.
Symbolism
Ruby has traditionally been associated with vitality, courage, passion and resilience. In crystal traditions, Ruby in Hornblende is regarded as a grounding and strengthening stone, symbolising inner strength, confidence and protection during periods of change.
